Getting started

LearnFeed is a platform for independent instructors and teaching centres. One account runs one or more academies; an academy has its own public website, its own students, and its own subscription.

The shape of the product

• An ACADEMY is the tenant. It owns everything below it and has its own address at {slug}.learnfeed.app.
• A COURSE is a subject you teach. It is a container, not a schedule.
• A COHORT is a run of a course with a start date, a price and a set of students. Students enrol in cohorts, never in courses.
• A SESSION is one meeting of a cohort. Attendance, recordings and materials hang off sessions.
• TASKS and QUIZZES are the work students hand in, and both are graded per cohort.

Signup to first student

• Create an account and an academy. The academy gets a subdomain immediately and starts on a trial.
• Create a course, then a cohort under it with a start date and a price.
• Publish your public page — it is generated for you and editable section by section.
• Share the page. Students enrol from it, or you add them by hand or by spreadsheet import.

Nothing on the public page is visible to anyone until you press Publish. The editor's preview is what you see; the published snapshot is what visitors see, and the two are separate on purpose.
